GREEN, WHITE OR YELLOW WINTER MELONS
Wrinkled or smooth varieties, with large fruits that reach 1000 to 1800 g. Their pulp is white, sweet, and juicy and their cycle is very slow. They can be harvested in late August and be stored in a cool, well-ventilated place (hung or placed on grids until Christmas). The fruit's health is very important for its conservation. Given its poor resistance to fusarium wilt, one should avoid replanting on land that hosted other cucurbits, or use grafted plants. It is also sensitive to powdery mildew and requires preventive treatments. Recommended transplanting period: May-June.
