YELLOW BULBED DORATA OF PARMA TYPE ONION

As for the yellow bulb variety, along with local varieties such as "Dorata di Parma" and "Gialla di Mondragone", there are also numerous "day-determined" hybrids, both long and short.
Long-day varieties in general, are transplanted in spring and harvested in late summer and need more than 12 hours of light in order for the bulb to be formed. The bulb's shape is round, with copper-coloured layers and has an excellent shelf-life until spring. This variety is very hardy and very resistant to disease.
